Had a bunch of ATC's left from series' of trades I did, so decided to mount them on cardstock to use as notecards/greeting cards.. like mini pieces of art. They're removable so can be matted and framed. Here are a few:
Have been trying to use up fabric scraps recently in a few projects i.e. mattress caddies,
tea wallets, purses.
Last week found a source of FREE scraps...(so much for using up!)...
so have been making a list of projects I could use them for.
clothespin bags/ clothespin aprons
wine bags and water bottle totes
sewing kits/scissors pouch
credit card wallets
Reusable lunch/snack bags
make up bags
knitting needle cases
Yet more bottles... ;-)
The lakeside landscaping is finally done after installation of the septic system.
The bottle sculpture was my idea. The blue bottles represent the lake, the 12
stems represent the 12 months of the year and the leaf shaped layout represents nature.
Ok...so we have the wooden bottle rack tree, the bottle tomato stakes, bottle garden edging, bottles on the garden posts, detergent, oil and vinegar wine bottles, and now the Winn Dixie spirit bottle tree :)
"Art in My Garbage" is a favorite theme I deamed up. All that "stuff" in the trash-bin surely has another life as an "art supply" - Yesterday the discovery was date pits ;-D They scrub up well, have a nice rustic, "woody" look and make great beads when drilled with a fine dremel bit. Have also just discovered "sea beans", along with the lovely shells on the Texas beaches. The teeniest bit of baby oil shines them up nice. Avocados, apple seeds, prune pits, etc. can all be used as well. http://www.beachbeans.com/bean_descriptions.html
Hoping to share inspiration with thosewho visit. “Art is in the doing. It isn’t important how it turns out. The process is where the pleasure, the learning and the experience take place. A day without some sort of creative endeavor is a wasted day.” Myrna Wacknov
Call of the Wild was a page created for a Traveling Journal while a member on an altered book site. The book is gone, but at least I have photos of the art created. This is a combination of stamping, collage and freehand.
