Have been trying to use up fabric scraps recently in a few projects i.e. mattress caddies,
tea wallets, purses.
Last week found a source of FREE scraps...(so much for using up!)...
so have been making a list of projects I could use them for.

eyeglass cases
clothespin bags/ clothespin aprons
remote caddies
wine bags and water bottle totes
aprons
place mats
sewing kits/scissors pouch
credit card wallets
hot pads
hot mats
pincushions
sachets
Reusable lunch/snack bags
make up bags
mug rugs
coasters
needle cases
knitting needle cases
checkbook covers

not a bad list to start!

Birdbath a la CHEEP...(cheap!)

From a glass ceiling fixture and a pot stand.
Cost all of a dollar...add a rock, some pennies and water.

Bottle Sculpture

Yet more bottles... ;-)
The lakeside landscaping is finally done after installation of the septic system.
The bottle sculpture was my idea. The blue bottles represent the lake, the 12
stems represent the 12 months of the year and the leaf shaped layout represents nature.

Think it turned out pretty nice.

Summer 2011

I'm soooo not into this posting everyday stuff! Have made some pretty wedding cards and am trying to sell some of my recycled jean purses and wind chimes. Will try to get pictures up after my niece's wedding.

Back early from Texas this year.

Texas Bound

Don't know exactly where summer went.
It's almost time to become Winter Texans again.
Never got much time to be here...everyday activities,
family and way too much politics this year.
DID do something good for myself though...took the Hunter's
Ed course locally and passed. Proud as punch! :-)

On our way home from Port A, Tx.

Passing through, Arkansas and Missouri saw some pretty bad flooding from all the rain last weekend. Farm fields are a mess. Am so sorry for the farmers.
Should be back soon. Hope to post some new cards.

Cat Haiku:
So you call this thing
your "cat carrier"...
I call these my
"blades of death".

Another Cuttlebugged card...
kids got me folders for Christmas.
This machine is the best thing since sliced bread or chocolate cake!

Last one for today...
background is the Cuttlebug music folder.
Butterfly stamp is embossed in gold,
and the faux brads are just flowers
punched and indented in the middle.

Backgound here was stamped in
clear pigment ink (VersaMark) and
then swiped over with chalk.
ThankYou is embossed in Gold ep.

This one is stamped with clear pigment ink and
and embossed with white ep then
watercolored.

Pit Beads

"Art in My Garbage" is a favorite theme I deamed up.
All that "stuff" in the trash-bin surely has another life as an "art supply" - Yesterday the discovery was date pits ;-D
They scrub up well, have a nice rustic, "woody" look and make great beads when drilled with a fine dremel bit. Have also just discovered "sea beans", along with the lovely shells on the Texas beaches. The teeniest bit of baby oil shines them up nice. Avocados, apple seeds, prune pits, etc. can all be used as well. http://www.beachbeans.com/bean_descriptions.html
